Becoming a mom changes so much. In a heartbeat this special little person arrives and it’s as if you become a new person. While adapting to this new life I found I was losing the old me; the stylish trendy me.
Everywhere I looked I saw activity mats which did not fit my style and from this the Coco Bean journey began. The desire for a baby mat that could sit in my home as an extension of my own personal taste. A product that I did not have to rush to clear away as guests arrived, something that I was proud to leave in full view.
The design of the mat provides baby with absolute comfort. A thick foam base covered with quilted padded cotton, surrounded by extra soft virgin polyester fill. Perfect to lay on hard wooden floors without the need to grab a towel or a blanket to put underneath. Grab the mat as you run out the door with the knowledge that your little one is going to lay and play in comfort.
Each quilted cotton mat is covered with a customizable mat cover. As a mom I know 'life' happens; so it was important to me that the mat was conveniently washable by simply unzipping the cover and sliding it off.
Quality is ensured as each mat is made by me, by hand here in Canada with customer satisfaction in mind.
I am a momma of two beautiful boys; Cohen (4 years old) and Leo (6 months). 'Coco Bean' comes from the nickname Coco, that our son Cohen acquired when he was an infant and 'Bean' comes from the affectionate term often given to our little ones as we gaze at our first sonogram photo.
I feel fortunate to live in Cochrane, Alberta; with a view of the mountains and to be close to natures biggest playground. In the winter months, we head to Kananaskis, Canmore or Banff and test out several of the most beautiful ice-skating and hiking locations. In the summer those same lakes and destinations become the most stunning places for days by the lake and paddle boarding.
I get excited about the thought that every day is a new day, with a new slate and I am in control of how it unfolds. As I walk downstairs to my studio, the refreshing light and endless view of the mountain horizon makes for the most calming environment.
